This sculpture incorporates seven characters and one cuckoo bird. in it's design; one and a half cranking characters, two characters playing tug-of-war, two counter-weight characters on a pendulum, one rotating on a pole and the cuckoo bird rocking back and forth. on the hour it strikes the large brass bell at the top soundly.'Big Bong' is made of gas-welded sheet steel and soft copper-coated steel welding rod.. it's finish is one of flame oxidized steel and copper with copper highlights. it is then sprayed with a clear acrylic coating which protects the sculpture from rusting and gives it a shiny appearance.It is an accurate working clock that is powered by a small 120vac clock motor. |
