The Airplane incorporates six flea characters in it's design; one pilot flea who turns the steering wheel, two and a half cranking fleas,  one flea hanging on for dear life and one flea in first class sitting on the moving tail with an adult beverage.

   It is made of gas-welded sheet steel and soft copper-coated steel welding rod.  Its finish is one of flame oxidized steel and copper with copper highlights.  The sculpture is then sprayed with a clear acrylic coating which protects it from rusting and gives it a shiny appearance.

   It is powered by a nine volt re-chargeable battery.
